Support the development of novel fuels for the automotive, aviation, aerospace and small engine industries.
- Key responsibilities include working to drive the laboratory effort for the formulation of very specialized fuels to meet customer specifications based on priorities established by business leadership.
- The position requires an in depth understanding of refinery and chemical feed stocks, ASTM test methods for petroleum products and current fuel industry technologies to meet the customer's fuel needs.
- The incumbent will work closely with the R&D director as well as the Technical Service and Development team and the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Director to assist in research and understanding for new fuels. The candidate will work primarily in a laboratory setting.
- Experience in all of the following is preferred; qualitative and quantitative analysis in hydrocarbon products, GC, MS and distillation
Travel is not expected to be extensive but position will require travel as needed for seminars, customer visits or other industry meetings and events.

Technical Knowledge and Practicality: Discovers, develops and maintains in-depth technical knowledge relevant to the Haltermann Solutions business, capabilities, customers and competitors; understands and leverages current fuels and emerging biofuels and novel fuel technologies. Be effective at bridging modeling and experimentation. Experience with ChemCad or Aspen Plus process simulation software a plus.
Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to be an effective team player not only within R&D but effectively interface with the commercial organization as well as Supply Chain and Manufacturing on raw material selection and qualifications.
A BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline is required for this position.•
Five or more years' experience in an oil process technology, R&D or automotive engine development or fuel development is preferred.
